Life, Honor and Sight
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 My life has changed a lot this last year. At the end of June, I made the leap of faith and married my best friend, Kelly. The wedding was a lot of hard work, but in the end, everything was perfect. We had a great photographer shoot the day, Natalie Williams. It was a busy day and she managed to photograph it all. Kelly and I had our ceremony in a small baptist church in Yorba Linda, with the reception following at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Anaheim. The next morning we took an early flight to Oahu. It was Kelly's first time in Hawaii, so she was excited when we arrived. I will blog more photos in a few days, but I first wanted to post a couple images.
We were in Oahu over 4th of July weekend, so we figured a good way to celebrate that day was by going to Pearl Harbor to honor those who lost their lives fighting for our country. It was a weird feeling looking around and figuring out what happened that day. The image below was the best way I could interpret how I viewed that day.

For the photographers out there, yes, this is an HDR(Tonemapped) image. I couldnt bring a tripod with me so this was all handheld with 3 exposures.
One day, after hiking, we took a detour to see more of the island before heading back to the hotel. We were coming up on the Makapuu lighthouse when I saw a beach I found interesting. To me, this image is what Hawaii is all about.
More coming soon...
